
Eric Lee is an activist and writer in the international labour movement, and the author of "The Labour Movement and the Internet: The New Internationalism" (Pluto Press, London, 1996).  Formerly a leading figure in the democratic socialist movement in the USA, he is today a member of Kibbutz Ein Dor in Israel and an activist in the Israeli left and peace movement. Peter Waterman is a senior lecturer of  Political Sociology in the Politics of Alternative Development Strategies MA Programme of Institute of Social Studies(ISS), Netherlands. He teaches the university-level courses and seminar series such as political sociology of development, NGOs and social movements in the third world, new social movements, alternative international relations. He is the co-author of "Internacionalismo y Movimiento Obrero: El Eje Norte Sur"(Madrid: Ediciones HOAC, 1992) with Joaquin Arriola, and his new book, "From Labour Internationalism to Global Solidarity: Social Movements, Globalisation and the New Internationalisms"(London : Cassell) is forthcoming.

Kubeshni Govender is currently the Media Officer of the Food and Allied Workers Union(FAWU), based in Cape Town, South Africa.  Her duties involve day to day contact with media professionals from local, regional and national newspapers, as well as broadcast media in South Africa. She has also produced two broadcast documentaries on the Fisheries Debate and Food Security in South Africa.  Both were screened the 1996 FAWU Congress held in July 1996 in Cape Town. She has also produced two editions of the FAWU Newsletter, The Spear  in addition to a brochure dedicated to the women of FAWU.

Chris Bailey is 51 years old. He has been active in the trade union movement all his adult life and he is Secretary of the metalworkers union (AEEU) in Cambridge. He founded LabourNet(http://gn.apc.org/labournet) in 1995. He is, at present, studying for an MA degree in European Politics having completed a course in European Labour Studies.
